Neighbourhood Happenings-Update

There has been a change in the Local Government Act that requires CSRD (and all other local governments) to notify when a Public Hearing has been waived. This includes sending notifications to property owners within 100 meters of the application prior to first reading. This is the first time we have seen this done and here are some applications that are in the works;

What is Lakes Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 900-34C (BL900-34C)?

The subject property is located at 4119 Galligan Road, Eagle Bay, and is a shared interest with 29 share areas, 17 of which are waterfront and considered waterfront units. The property is more particularly shown in bold outline on the map below:

The foreshore adjacent to the subject property is currently zoned “FM1 – Foreshore Multifamily 1” and allows for one floating dock and one private mooring buoy for each waterfront unit. It is proposed to rezone the foreshore to permit up to 18 docks and 29 private mooring buoys.

What is Electoral Area E Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 841-01 (BL841-01)?

The subject property is located at 9862 Old Spallumcheen Rd near Mara Point in Electoral Area E and is more particularly shown in bold outline on the map below:

The owners of Hyde Mountain Golf Course are applying for a bylaw amendment in order to create a subdivision for the seasonal use of recreational vehicles (RVs) and confirm that a helicopter tour business can operate on the golf course properties.

RV lots would be a minimum 290 m2 served by community water and community sewer systems and could only be accommodated between March 1 and October 31 of each calendar year.
