Hello from the Salmon Society,
I am reaching out to you to invite your organization to come and be part of the volunteer crew at the Salute to the Sockeye Festival this October.
Millions of salmon are forecast to make their journey back home to spawn this fall. Our society is amid planning to celebrate this phenomenon. The Salute to the Sockeye Festival is scheduled for October 9-25.
Big run calls for big help. The festival is made possible by the many volunteers who graciously lend their time to this event.
We have 17 days of shifts to fill. This is a great opportunity for your team to be together and show your support for a worthwhile cause. Volunteers are needed in admissions, parking, merchandise sales, and as cabin and plaza hosts, as well as at set up and tear down. The grounds are open daily 8:30 – 4:30 and you can choose to do either half day or full day shifts. Morning shifts are 8-12:30 and afternoons 12:30-5 (we start and end the day a bit before the gates open and close to allow us to be organized). You can volunteer for one shift or as many as you wish. No special skills are needed, just your willingness and a friendly smile.
To be a part of this team that helps welcome the world to our beautiful community, you can sign up with the below form.

Let’s work together and make this a Salute to remember and show the world the Shuswap spirit as we help protect the salmon and boost the local economy.
I look forward to receiving your applications and meeting you.
