Provincial Agreement on Haida Aboriginal Title

Province of British Columbia

As we have noted in previous articles, SWOA is watching carefully and with concern, changes the current provincial government want to impose on waterfront and upland property owners by way of amendments to the Land Title Act and, most recently, the Heritage Conservation Act. These changes have already been written up, awaiting the eventuality they may become law. It’s been fearsomely debated in the B.C. legislature and continues to be a polarizing and perhaps most important aspect of our freedom as free title property owners here and all of B.C.

It’s our goal to further educate ourselves as to how various acts may be changed in this Province and to share with waterfront owners the impact it may have on all free title property owners in B.C.

There is no more important time than now to be informed and to ensure we know the direction of the government in B.C. on these matters. SWOA will do my best to share with all of you what’s going on.
